Frequently Asked Questions

Am I eligible for the test?
All asymptomatic individuals (excluding children under 2 years old and people not suitable for testing as listed below) are eligible to conduct an at-home observed rapid antigen test.

If you would like to use the negative test result for travel purposes, please note that entry requirements vary by country. Some countries will accept self-tests, while others will only accept tests performed by a medical clinician. Please consult your airline or review the destinations’ entry requirements for the most accurate details.

CAUTION:

- Do not use this test on children under 2 years of age.
- Do not use this test on anyone who is prone to nosebleeds.
- Do not use this test on anyone who has had facial injuries, head injuries or surgery in the past six months.
- If you have symptoms, please seek medical advice.
Do I need to book the At-Home (Virtual) COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test in advance?
Customers must book the At-Home (Virtual) COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test in advance. At the moment, we do not allow any drop-ins for the test.

Please book your appointment through your Prenetics account (create one here).

Depending on the country you are traveling to, the timeframe validity of your report may vary - therefore please check with your airline or review the destinations’ entry requirements for the most accurate details. As appointment timeslots for the observed tests are booked on a first-come-first-serve basis, please book in advance in order to leave sufficient time prior to your departure.

The observed test should take around 20 minutes to complete, while your report will be released within 60 minutes after your test results are uploaded.
What do I need to prepare for the test?
1. Order and receive your kit
After receiving your kit, check whether your kit has all the required components (a swab, a test cassette in the white pouch, an extraction tube with liquid reagent, a biohazard slip bag, a test report card and a kit ID sticker) ahead of the scheduled appointment. Do not tamper with the kit components or our proctor may be required to reject the kit, resulting in a delay in your report being ready.

2. Ensure you have the right equipment to join the virtual appointment
You will receive an SMS and email confirmation containing a Zoom meeting link. Please attend your appointment by joining the meeting link at the time of your scheduled appointment. Since this is an observed test, it is important to ensure the device you join the meeting with has:

1. A webcam: built-in, USB plug-in;
2. Speakers and a microphone: built-in, USB plug-in, or wireless Bluetooth;
3. An internet connection: broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE);
4. For mobile and /or tablets, install the Zoom App (iOS /Android)
When will the results / test report be ready?
You should take a photo of the test result within 15 to 30 minutes after sample collection to ensure accurate results. Please upload the test result to our portal as soon as you can. The results upload portal can be accessed via a QR code attached to your test kit.

Under normal circumstances, reports will be released in 60 minutes after you have uploaded the observed test result to our portal, however report release times may differ due to unexpected circumstances including unclear pictures or invalid results.

You are advised to confirm with your airline on entry requirements to your destination country, including eligible COVID-19 test types, and timeframe eligibility.

Prenetics does not accept any responsibility or liability for losses arising as a result of any delay within this timeframe or your inability to enter your destination country. This includes claims for losses where you have been unable to travel or work.
Can I request for the test report to be released earlier / at a specific time?
Unfortunately, we cannot fulfil such requests.
How will I receive the results / test report?
Please log in to Prenetics account to view your result. You will also receive SMS and email notification once the result is ready.
Can I use the test report for my destination country?

What are the available time slots?
You will find the available time slots after creating your profile.

Timeslots are available Monday to Sunday starting at 8:30am HKT, with the last booking at 9:00pm HKT.
Can I purchase my test directly at your office?
Currently, we do not accept any direct purchase at the office. However, you may book your appointment online ahead of time.
Can my child perform the test?
Children over 2 years old are eligible for the test. However for individuals aged 2 years to 13 years, adult-collected anterior nasal swab is required.
If I no longer want to do the test, can I ask for a refund?
All sales are final.

Failing to attend your scheduled appointment will result in forfeiting any refund or test report. If you wish to reschedule your appointment, please contact us on +852 3008 1006 or email to support@prenetics.com at least 24 hours prior to your original appointment.
What if I am late or missed my appointment?
Your appointment will be considered missed if you arrive more than 5 minutes late. Missed appointments cannot be refunded.

As we organise our staff to provide services at your appointed time, please also note that we will not be able to conduct the observed test if you arrive at an earlier appointment slot.
